Cortical Development Inc has been established as a non-profit entity to foster academic collaboration and promote the dissemination of new knowledge pertaining to cerebral cortical development and related neurodevelopmental disorders. The primary function is to create a scientific meeting every three years. A meeting, titled: Cortical Development: Neural Stem Cells to Neural Circuits, was held in Milazzo, Italy, May 29-June 3, 2022, and was part of a series of extraordinarily successful meetings we have organized in the Mediterranean every three years. Previous meetings were held at Delphi, Santorini, and Crete. A roster of internationally-renowned neuroscientists participate in each meeting, presenting centered on cortical development and the emergence of neural stem cell strategies. The idea for this meeting arose at the time of the initial Delphi meeting in May, 2002, from the realization that there is an acute need for a continuing forum to discuss the rapid areas of progress in this field. The conferences have been organized with a panel of expert scientists in the field, and up to 250 participants with poster sessions and panel discussions on selected topics.
